Seachtain na Gaeilge

March 24, 2023

We celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge this year with a variety of great activities.

Every day each class chose a Gaelgóir an Lae – someone who made a huge effort to use their Irish.  These lucky pupils received prizes from the Bosca Draíochta in Mrs Lane’s office!

We put the emphasis on using Gaeilge while engaging in fun activities and games.  We played Bingo in Irish, learned Irish Dance, partook in Yoga through Irish, watched Irish cartoons in the Pictíurlann (cinema), and finished off Seachtain na Gaeilge with a Lá Glas, where we wore our green, were visited by a Leprechaun, had a whole-school parade, and our Céilí Mór in Cobh Community Centre.
